FORUM 5

Of the six (6) theories covered in this lecture, choose one (1) that most interests you. Then, do some further research on your chosen theory. The recommended way to research your theory is by going to Google Scholar (scholar.google.com) and typing the theory name into the search bar. Construct a three (3) paragraph post that covers in order: 1) why you choose the theory you did (including some reference to why you did not choose the other options), 2) a summary of the major points of the theory you chose, and 3) the thing that most resonated with you (a good way to identify this is by explaining how you might change your own communication style or habits after learning more about this theory).

Post your own response and then comment on at least two (2) of your classmates’ posts to receive full credit for this forum. As much as possible you should comment on posts that chose a DIFFERENT theory than the one that you chose.

FEEDBACK

The Media Review Feedback assignment offers opportunities to give constructive feedback to your peers.

Learning to give and receive feedback and constructive criticism is a vital skill in today’s world. To practice that skill, and to improve the overall quality of your Media Reviews, this assignment requires you to provide substantive feedback on five (5) of your classmates’ drafts.

You will need to post substantive feedback on five (5) your classmates' drafts by the deadline to receive full credit for this assignment. Substantive feedback is defined by crafting a post that is: 1) one (1) paragraph in length, 2) demonstrates that you read the draft in its entirety, 3) identifies at least one (1) thing about the draft that you thought worked well, and 4) identifies at least one (1) thing about the draft that could be improved.

This assignment will be submitted in Desire2Learn (D2L) in a format similar to the weekly Discussion Forums. If a draft already has five (5) feedback responses please choose a different draft to comment on.
